2-year and 4-year degree programs

All courses in the following programs are offered at our Wausau campus as well as through our online college.

Associate in Criminal Justice. Earn this degree in 18 months. Studies include juvenile justice, investigations, security, corrections, behavioral science, criminal law, constitutional issues and supervisory management.

Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice. Complete this degree in 36 months of year-round study. Study all of the above as well as advanced topics, including community policing, probation and parole, terrorism, Homeland Security, drugs and correctional counseling.

Careers in criminal justice

Criminal justice professionals work in the courts, corrections, private security and protection services, and law enforcement support* systems. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2008-09* predicts faster-than-average to excellent job growth in the field. The handbook cites many examples, including the following:

  • Private detective/ investigator
  • Corrections officers
  • Security guards and gaming surveillance officers
  • Juvenile services and child advocates
  • Court officers
  • Police dispatcher

In some states, employment as a law enforcement officer (police, state patrol, county sheriff’s department) requires training in addition to a degree from Globe University.
