Globe University offers medical assisting training at our Wausau college campus. Our students learn medical skills and knowledge in demand in all types of clinics. Certified medical assistants work closely with physicians to provide patient care. This is a job with variety—as a medical assistant, you might do all of the following—in just one morning!
- Take x-rays
- Perform lab tests
- Take patient histories
- Administer medication

- Call a patient with the physician’s instructions

Medical assistant programs
- Medical Assistant Diploma. In just over a year (15 months) students receive medical knowledge, hands-on practice in technical skills and prepare for the Certified Medical Assistant—CMA (AAMA) exam and the AART Limited Scope of Practice in Radiology exam.
- Associate in Applied Science in Medical Assistant. The two-year degree program includes all training included in the college diploma program, as well as general education coursework that provides practice in communication and critical thinking.
