Certified medical assistants work closely with physicians to provide patient care. This is a job with variety—as a medical assistant, you might do all of the following—in just one morning!
- Take x-rays

Medical assistant programs
- Medical Assistant Diploma. In just over a year (15 months) students receive medical knowledge, hands-on practice in technical skills and prepare for the Certified Medical Assistant—CMA (AAMA) exam and the AART Limited Scope of Practice in Radiology exam.
- Associate in Applied Science in Medical Assistant. The two-year degree program includes all training included in the college diploma program, as well as general education coursework that provides practice in communication and critical thinking.
